I wanted to share a my latest work in progress. I took an $8.00 top hat that I bought in Party City and I'm creating a leather top hat using leather from an old leather jacket that I was going to dump. The pictures will show the original hat, the leather pieces I cut out and the hat partly completed. I will post more pictures as I progress.

Steampunk World's Fair This Weekend!!
The Steampunk World's Fair in Piscataway NJ is this weekend May 17 - 19th and I am super excited. I can't wait to dress up and show off some of my creations. I also love the immersive feel of the event and the incredible amount of inspiration I get from seeing the work of others. I have a couple of new pieces that I've made for the event and I will be posting them soon along with photos from the world's fair. If any other deviants are going please comment below. Thanks to all as always for the comments and inspiration I get every day here on Deviant.

Happy New Year!!!
It's been busy, crazy, wonderful and sometimes sad year and I want to thank all who have visited, commented and appreciated the work I've posted here. I'm posting my last two projects of 2012 tonight, a Steampunk Wrist Bracer for my Ipod Nano and a Steampunk Mask. I finished them a month ago but with the holidays the time got away from me. Looking forward to a new and creative year in 2013 and wishing all on Deviant a very Happy Creative and Prosperous New Year!!!!

Hi all,
It's been a little while since I posted anything new and I wanted to give a small explanation and share some good news. I've been busy the last month planning my wedding to my girlfriend. We've been together 4 years and decided to get married on Halloween. All the plans were going well until Hurricane Sandy hit 2 days before the wedding. We were very lucky personally that we didn't suffer any damage and our hearts and prayers go out to those that are suffering. Bioshock Diary - Ryan Industries
This is a teaser for a Nerf Gun mod that I will be posting soon. It started with a broken Nerf Maverick that I wanted to mod. I tried to fix the gun while doing the drop barrel mod and removing the air restrictors but the gun was just defective. I thought about just getting rid of it and buying a new Maverick, I did buy a new Maverick which I will be modding later but I decide to mod the broken gun anyway. I had one problem though and that is, that I didn't know what I wanted to do except that I wanted to Steampunk the gun.

Nice! I have the same top hat. I always wanted to get some leather into my pieces somehow. Are you using special leather needles to stitch it back up?
